The Cortina Delicious ski area

Between the Falzarego and Giau passes

The ski slopes of the Cortina Delicious area are always snow-covered and perfectly groomed, thanks to favourable exposure and the use of artificial snow programmes when necessary. The difficulty of the ski runs is from easy to moderate, and all are immensely satisfying.
From the peak of Mount Lagazuoi, you can return to the Falzarego Pass skirting the mountain on the Lagazuoi slope, or ski down to the Badia Valley along the mesmerizing Armentarola piste.
Facing Mount Lagazuoi, the Col Gallina ski area is a paradise for children, with slopes also suitable for beginners. From here, you can reach the 5 Torri and Giau ski slopes.
You can easily reach the Giau and 5 Torri ski areas from the Badia, Puster and Gardena valleys via the Falzarego Pass. You can return with the Croda Negra two-seater chairlift (420 meters long) that reaches the Forcella Croda Negra from the Fedare slope (Giau Pass). On the north side of Forcella Croda Negra, the Averau Troi ski track leads to Col Gallina and the Falzarego Pass.
The Cortina Delicious area has two ski training centres: the Ovest Col Gallina 6 slope and the Lino Lacedelli slope at the 5 Torri, both homologated for competitions and training.

Connections between the Cortina Delicious ski area and the adjacent valleys

The area is part of the Dolomiti Superski ski carousel and is connected to the slopes of the adjacent ski areas and valleys by lift facilities, pistes, ski buses, public bus services and taxi buses. The Dolomiti Superski ski pass is required to use the free ski bus. However, some routes are subject to a fee (Pescul - Fedare and Masarè - Alleghe - Malga Ciapela).
The Cortina Delicious ski area, located between Pocol, the Falzarego and Giau passes, and the Badia Valley can be reached as follows:

  • with the Cortina Skyline gondola lift at Son dei Prade;
  • with the Dolomitibus daily ski bus route Borca  - San Vito - Cortina - Son dei Prade - 5 Torri - Col Gallina - Falzarego Pass to reach the valley and top stations of the Cortina Skyline and the Falzarego Pass; adjustments are being made to the Winter 2023-2024 timetable.
  • with a Cortina Express bus Cortina - Falzarego Pass - Badia (by reservation and payment, ticket purchase); adjustments are being made to the Winter 2023-2024 timetable.
  • A taxi service and a very special horse-drawn tow connect the Cortina Delicious ski area from Mount Lagazuoi to the Badia Valley.
  • The Cortina d'Ampezzo Infopoint provides further information about ski buses and regular buses.

Armentarola, the most fascinating piste in the Dolomites

The 8.5 km long Armentarola is definitely the most famous slope in the Dolomites and one of the most beautiful ski runs in the world.
Arriving from Cortina d’Ampezzo or Badia, take the Lagazuoi cable car at the Falzarego pass, which in only three minutes reaches an altitude of 2.732 metres. Once you reach the top, a breathtaking panorama opens up: make a stop to enjoy it from the terrace of the top station. From there, the spectacular descent from Mount Lagazuoi to the Capanna Alpina Refuge meanders through a unique, majestic landscape.

The Armentarola slope unfolds along the foot of the imposing Fanes mountain in an enchanting fairy-tale valley surrounded by majestic castles of rock and frozen waterfalls, making this magical descent an endless flow of thrills and surprises.
And, as in every self-respecting fairy tale, the ski track ends with a horse-drawn tow that brings the skiers back to the starting point, from where they can ski down the same slope again or go on fabulous new adventures.
