Monte Averau via A. Alverà, U. Pompanin, U.Illing, A.Apollonio - 1945 - Sud Ovest Averau

If there is something that today is really difficult for alpine climbers, it’s traverse climbing.

The modern climbers expect to climb following straight on the shiny pitons and might feel uncomfortable in these chimneys and especially on the characteristic traverse pitch half-way up.

It is a classic climbing route that must be tackled with due respect; it requires some intuition and experience in dealing with cams and slings for the removable devices.
