Via Ferrata Sottotenente Fusetti

An exciting equipped climbing route where you can retrace the deeds of a hero of the First World War: Lieutenant Mario Fusetti who was posthumously awarded the Golden Medal of Honour.

Built by two Alpini units searching for the remains of the Lieutenant Mario Fusetti, this via ferrata was inaugurated on 18th October 2018.

This via ferrata is part of the largest open-air museum of the First World War in the Dolomites.

A section of the route crosses the mountain as you will walk through the Goiginger tunnel, which was dug by Austro-Hungarian soldiers for military purposes.

Then a trench and tunnel system leads up to the summit of Mt. Sasso di Stria from where you will overlook the valleys Fodom, Val Badia and Ampezzo.
