Climbing in the Cortina Delicious area

The Cortina Delicious area has gained considerable interest to mountaineers thanks to its numerous peaks characterised by excellent rock, favourable exposure and easy access.

Some walls have acquired a well-deserved place in the history of mountaineering, like the stupendous Scotoni with the classic climbing routes Via Lacedelli and Via dei Fachiri and the sport climbing route Skotonata galatika; others, such as Torre Falzarego, are ideal for those who are beginners at mountaineering and for the first climbs of the season.

On several peaks fascinating classical climbing routes wind upwards, such as the Torre del Lago with its dihedral Diedro Dall'Oglio or the Col dei Bos with the edge Spigolo Sud.

The 5 Torri (the Five Towers) are, without a doubt, the most important crag in the region. Their walls feature 108 routes ranging from the 2nd to the 8th degree of difficulty.

It is on account of this great variety that the area is greatly utilised for the organisation of rock-climbing sessions and for introductory courses in mountaineering.

And let's not forget the splendid routes marked out on the south side of the Averau and on Ra Gusela.
