Bèco d’Ajàl

The Bèco d'Ajàl, a characteristic rock pillar of the Croda da Lago mountain group visible from the centre of Cortina, rises in the middle of the pine forests of the Federa area.

This crag is not suitable for beginners but it is certainly perfect for those who want to put themselves to the test in endurance climbing on overhanging walls with numerous holes and long pitches.

The rock quality is dolomite reef with crimps. Given the high level of difficulty of the crag, the bolts are relatively far apart from each other but safe and well placed.

The crag is located west of Cortina and can be reached from Pocol via the state road 638 of the Giau Pass; after 1.5 km, there is a parking lot on the left, next to the Malga Peziè de Parù refuge.

Here begins the road to Val Formin. Take it and cross the bridge over the Rio Costeana creek after about 100 metres. Immediately after the bridge turn left (to the east). From there, follow the signs to the crag.
