Lino Lacedelli, a man's journey to the summit
Lagazuoi Expo Dolomiti*
On the 70th anniversary of the legendary K2 ascent, Cortina and the Scoiattoli association, the most famous group of climbers in Italy, commemorate their fellow townsman and climbing companion Lino Lacedelli by highlighting not only his exceptional mountaineering career but also his profound human and personal story. A selection of the vast correspondence between Lino Lacedelli, his family, and friends will be opened up to the public for the first time.
A series of letters exchanged between Cortina and K2, chronicling a man's quest to conquer the summit and reminiscing about a vanished Italy.
Kicking off in July, the exhibition will start with an exclusive preview at the Ciasa de Ra Regoles building in the centre of Cortina. It will then be fully showcased at the Lagazuoi EXPO Dolomiti in August, featuring a collection of pictures, unpublished videos, objects, and historical records from the Lacedelli family.
The visit to the exhibition is free of charge. It is open every day during the operating dates of the Lagazuoi cable car from 9 a.m. to 4.40 p.m.
