Thursdays and Fridays are 'Fartaies'-days

The Lago d’Ajal Refuge is mirrored in the water of the same-named romantic alpine lake and is a popular destination for the indisputable beauty of the place and the easy accessibility. It is possible to have lunch and dinner in the refuge or outside on the terrace. The host, Alberto, also welcomes guests who want to enjoy a snack, a light meal or an aperitif.
On the large terrace, they can enjoy cheese and cold cuts platters, toasted sandwiches, tasty bread rolls and the local Puccia bread with speck. For a sweet break, you can choose between different types of homemade cakes and desserts.

In summer, every Thursday and Friday the host adds to the rich gastronomic offer the "Fartaies" prepared outside the refuge. Fartaies is a sweet, crunchy spiral-shaped omelette, fried and served with currant jam and cream according to the traditional Ampezzo recipe.

It never fails to please!

PLEASE NOTE: This typical pastry from the Ampezzo region is freshly prepared on the terrace,  weather permitting, every Thursday and Friday afternoon from 4 p.m.  to 5.30 p.m. (times may vary depending on the weather).

The Lago d'Ajal Refuge can be reached on foot from Lake Pianozes (signpost no. 430 - approx. 30 minutes) or with an around 45-minute long walk with gentle ups and downs from the Malga Peziè de Parù Refuge.
