The Frontline Trail

This trail crosses several times the front line of the First World War on Mount Lagazuoi.
It is a well signposted and wide path. The hike takes about an hour and a half and the route doesn't have dangerous sections. That is why it is suitable for everyone, including families with children.
The Frontline Trail begins at the Falzarego pass, next to the parking lot of the Lagazuoi cable car. Here starts the path no. 402, which crosses the Italian front line and leads through the Italian emplacements below the Berrino point.
Then the path crosses again the Italian front line and leads up to the Travenanzes saddle at an altitude of 2507 meters, to the Austrian front line. Afterwards, you turn left onto the trail no. 401 and reach the Lagazuoi saddle at an altitude of 2572 meters, which was split in two by the Austrian trenches.
The path continues on the Muraglia Rocciosa crest where you can see the machine-gun emplacements in the tunnel targeting the Berrino point and the Col dei Bos.
The trail ends at the Lagazuoi Refuge  (2752 m). Here begins the short walk to the summit cross of the Piccolo Lagazuoi (2778 m), a vantage point to admire an amazing panorama that embraces Mt.  Antelao, the Tofane mountain group, the mountains Civetta and Pelmo, the Odle group, the Sella group and the Fanes high plain.
Return either on the same trail or by cable car.
