The Open-Air Museums Lagazuoi - 5 Torri - Sasso di Stria

The museum area extends to a radius of 5 km and includes the open-air museums of Mt. Lagazuoi, 5 Torri and Sasso di Stria. The are routes which are suitable for children or moderately difficult and can require from a few minutes to a full day.

Lagazuoi Open-air Museum
The Lagazuoi museum can be reached from the Falzarego Pass and the Valparola Pass on signposted hiking trails or by a cable car that in just 3 minutes takes you up to 2,782 m of altitude.

5 Torri Open-air Museum
With a 4-seater chairlift with canopy you can reach the emplacements of the Italian defence line of the 5 Torri in a few minutes, where a wonderful panorama opens up on the entire front line. The 5 Torri Museum can also be reached from Alleghe and Agordino by the chair lift at Giau pass.

Sasso di Stria Open-Air Museum
From Mt. Sasso di Stria, the Austro-Hungarian soldiers illuminated the Lagazuoi at night with spotlights to observe the Italians on the Martini Ridge. The summit can be reached either through the restored trenches or first through the Goiginger tunnel in the interior of the mountain and then on the brand new via ferrata Sottotenente Fusetti, which is very interesting in terms of landscape and, above all, of historical-tactical interest, as you walk in the footsteps of a hero of the Great War.

Visit to the Open-Air Museums of WW1
The best time to visit the museums is from May to October. Almost all tunnels and trenches have been restored, you can visit them on your own, with an historical re-enactor or with a mountain guide.
